 The landscape of education has changed and will change even more in the years to come in order to meet the challenges of Malaysia's vision in becoming a developed nation in the year 2020. The biggest challenge will be the global shift to knowledge society where people become the centrepiece. The pressure will obviously be on education to produce skillful and highly capable human capital to power the change.

To this end the University of Malaya has taken the lead in enabling the growth of k-economy by establishing the University of Malaya Centre for Continuing Education or better known as UMCCed. The centre is in fact a convergence of academia and industry, drawing the expertise of qualified lecturers from UM and the practitioners in the industry to provide well-mixed instructions required by k-economy workforce.

UMCCed, being integral to the system of learning in UM, will always uphold the mission of the University in seeking excellence in the advancement and dissemination of knowledge to meet the aspiration of the nation.

OBJECTIVE
To contribute to the development and enhancement of human resources in the private sector in Malaysia through lifelong learning.

MISSION
To upgrade the knowledge, skills and capacity of the working public in the private sector so that they can contribute to the development of their company and the country.

VISION
UMCCed among the global main players as training provider by 2010.
