Science Stream

Pass STPM with a minimum CGPA of 3.00;
and
Obtained of at least Grade B in STPM for the following subjects:

• Mathematics (T);
• Physics; and
• Chemistry/  Biology/  Information and Communications Technology (ICT)

Obtained of at least Grade B in SPM for the following subjects:

• Additional Mathematics; and

MATRICULATION/ FOUNDATION

Science Stream

Pass Matriculation/ Foundation with a minimum CGPA of 3.00;
and
Obtained of at least Grade B in Matriculation / Foundation for the following subjects:

• Mathematics;
• Physics/  Engineering Physics; and
• Chemistry/  Engineering Chemistry/   Biology/  Computer Science/  Computing

and
Obtained of at least Grade B in SPM for the following subjects:

• Additional Mathematics; and
• Mathematics/ Physics

and
Obtained of at least Band 2 for MUET.

DIPLOMA/EQUIVALENT

REQUIREMENT 1

Possessed a Diploma in Computer Science or Diploma in Information Technology from public universities or other institutions with related field recognized by Malaysian Government and approved by the University Senate with a minimum CGPA of 3.00;
and
Obtained of at least Grade B at Diploma level in Mathematics subjects;
and
Obtained of at least Grade B in SPM for the following subjects:

• Additional Mathematics; and
• Mathematics / Physics

and
Obtained of at least Band 2 for MUET

OR

REQUIREMENT 2

Pass STPM not within the current year with a minimum CGPA of 3.00;
and
Obtained of at least Grade B in STPM for the following subjects:

• Mathematics (T)
• Physics; and
• Chemistry/ Biology/ Information and Communications Technology (ICT)

and
Obtained of at least Grade B in SPM for the following subjects:

• Additional Mathematics; and
• Mathematics / Physics

and
Obtained of at least Band 2 for MUET

OR

REQUIREMENT 3

Pass Matriculation/ Foundation not within the current year with a minimum CGPA of 3.00;

Obtained of at least Grade B in Matriculation/ Foundation for the following subjects:

Obtained of at least Grade B in SPM for the following subjects:

Obtained of at least Band 2  for MUET

OTHER  REQUIREMENTS

REQUIREMENT 1

Possessed a GCE A-Level qualification with at least Grade A in Mathematics;
and
Obtained of at least Grade B in any one (1) of the following subjects:

• Computing;
• Physics;
• Further Mathematics;
• Chemistry;
• Biology;

and
Obtained of at least Grade B in SPM for the following subjects:

• Additional Mathematics; and
• Mathematics / Physics

and
Obtained of at least Band 2 for MUET.

OR

REQUIREMENT 2

Possessed an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma with a minimum score of 30 points and grade 5 (Higher Level) in Mathematics;
and
Any one (1) of the following subjects:

• Chemistry;
• Physics;
• Computer Science;
• Biology;

and
Obtained of at least Grade B in SPM for the following subjects:

• Additional Mathematics; and
• Mathematics / Physics

and
Obtained of at least Band 2 for MUET.

OR

REQUIREMENT 3

Possessed an Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT) qualification with at least an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 80 percent and 16 points (High Achievement) in Mathematics;
and
Obtained 16 points (High Achievement) in one (1) of the following subjects:

• Physics
• Chemistry
• Mathematics Specialist

and
Obtained of at least Grade B in SPM for the following subjects:

• Additional Mathematics; and
• Mathematics / Physics

and
Obtained of at least Band 2 for MUET.
However, applicants who do not possess a MUET but possessed the following results may be considered for a conditional offer with the fulfilment of the MUET requirements within the duration of one (1) academic session:

• Obtained of at least Band 4 (Academic) (Academic) in IELTS; or
• Obtained of at least 437 points (PBT)/  123 points (CBT)/  41 points (IBT) in TOEFL

International Students

Entry Requirements

• National Higher School Certificate (or an Advanced Level equivalent) with the grade 80% and above 

OR

• A Diploma from recognized Institutions with the least a CGPA of 3.00
• Applicant may be required to undergo an interview session for certain selection programme before being accepted by the respective faculty

English Language Requirements

• Effective from February 2019 intake, the English requirements has been updated and International students applying for the undergraduate programmes at University of Malaya must obtain:
1. A band of 6.0 and above in IELTS (Academic); or
2. A score of 550 (PBT), 213 (CBT) or 80 (IBT) and above in TOEFL

Students must complete a total of 128 credit in order to be awarded the Bachelor of Computer Science (Multimedia Computing).

Students must take and pass all courses / subjects prescribed as:
