Master of Facilities and Maintenance Management

Accredited by RICS, UK Programme syllabus are formed to meet International (RICS, BIFM, IFMA) and Local (CIDB) requirements, which aims to produce competent FM professionals equipped with current innovations and skills. The programme seeks to develop competent facilities managers that are in control for both strategic and operational management of services and processes that support the core business of an organisation. This product will ensure that an organisation has the most productive working environment for their activities, utilise by its employees and their business community at large. The programme also offers a scientific approach to facilities managers to innovate facilities management delivery, by focusing on using best business practice to optimise resources through soft and hard aspect of facilities management provisions.

Entry Requirements

Non-University of Malaya Graduates

  • Bachelor of Built Environment, Engineering & Technology, Economic & Business, Management or equivalent in a related field from a recognized university with a CGPA of at least 3.00 or equivalent; OR
  • Bachelor’s degree with a CGPA of 2.70 to 2.99
    Can be considered if it meets one (1) of the following criteria:
    • Have at least one (1) year of work experience in related field; OR
    • Produce publications in related fields; OR
    • scholarship recipient; OR
    • A Malaysian Government agency personnel; OR
    • Passed an interview; OR
    • Pass Special Assessment.
  • Bachelor's Degree with a CGPA of 2.50 to 2.69
    Can be considered if it meets  two (2) of the following criteria:
    • Have at least one (1) year of work experience in related field; OR
    • Produce publications in related fields; OR
    • Scholarship recipient; OR
    • A Malaysian Government agency personnel; OR
    • Passed an interview; OR
    • Pass Special Assessment
  • Bachelor's Degree with a CGPA of 2.00 to 2.49
    Can be considered if it candidates passed an interview by the Faculty and meets one (1) of the following criteria:
    • Have at least one (5) five year of work experience in related field; OR
    • Produce one (1) publication in related fields; OR
    • Pass Special Assessment

University of Malaya Graduates (UM Alumni)

  • Bachelor of Built Environment, Engineering & Technology, Economic & Business, Management or equivalent in a related field from a recognized university with a CGPA of at least 3.00 or equivalent; OR
  • Bachelor’s degree with a CGPA of 2.70 to 2.99; OR
  • Bachelor’s degree with a CGPA of 2.50 to 2.69
    Can be considered if it meets one (1) of the following criteria:
    • Have at least one (1) year of work experience in related field; OR
    • Produce publications in related fields; OR
    • scholarship recipient; OR
    • A Malaysian Government agency personnel; OR
    • Passed an interview; OR
    • Pass Special Assessment
  • Bachelor's Degree with a CGPA of 2.00 to 2.49
    Can be considered if it meets one (1) of the following criteria:
    • Have at least five (5) years of work experience in related field; OR
    • Produce one (1) publication in related fields; OR
    • Scholarship recipient; OR
    • A Malaysian Government agency personnel; OR
    • Passed an interview; OR
    • Pass Special Assessment

A Malaysian candidate who wishes to pursue a programme of study at the University of Malaya must fulfill the University's entry requirements as follows:

  1. Passed the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with a credit (Grade C) in Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia subject or a credit (Grade C) in Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia July paper and pass in History; and
  2. Achieve a minimum Band in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) as required in special requirements of the programme. and
  3. Fulfilled any of the programme Entry Requirements as below:
